SUMMARY: The Process Technician I is responsible for the safe and proper operation of all plant process equipment.
They are to produce budgeted amounts of product in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner in compliance with environmental laws.
RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following.
Other duties may be assigned at management's discretion.
Follow all established safety procedures for safe operation of equipment and handling of chemicals.
Oversees specific areas of the biodiesel production involved in the safe startup, operation, and shutdown of plant processes and equipment.
Troubleshoot any issues offering potential solutions and daily reports to management.
Perform monitoring and prescribed checks of all operating equipment.
Maintain proper records and logs of activities and operating conditions.
Report any changes in machine measures and performance.
Conducts oneself with professionalism and ethics.
Ensure all work areas are kept clean and free of clutter after each job or task.
Recognize & communicate the need for work orders and follow up with maintenance regarding equipment that is being worked on.
Work with other operators and supervision to cross-train in all operating areas, including loading and off-loading trucks if needed.
Understand and support QSH&E goals and objectives, and on-going improvement plans and activities.

High school diploma or GED required.
1+ years' experience in a chemical or petrochemical environment preferred.
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions and work orders in English furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form using basic Microsoft tools.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to move from place to place to all areas of production.
Must be able to climb ladders or platforms.
Must be able to wear all safety and production related equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work environment varies from an office, Plant production and outside climate conditions, based on the situation.
Noise level varies depending on which area of production employee is working in.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: This is a scheduled 12 hour shift working 7 shifts on and 7 shifts off.
Shifts are 12 hours 6am to 6pm day shift and 6pm to 6am night shift.
On call coverage will be rotated on a 3-week rotation with other process technicians on shift.
Occasionally, overtime and/or changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.
